Poem + Praise to the Most High

Hey mamas, sisters, and friends. Happy Wednesday, if you’re reading this today. I started typing, and this is where the spirit led me—pretty fitting once you get to the poem. Let’s start off with some praise (or keep scrolling if you’re just here for some poetry)

Let’s give praise to our Creator. To our Mighty God and to the Holy Spirit that dwells inside of us. Praise be to God for sending His One and only begotten Son to save us from our sins, so that we wouldn’t perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Everlasting life, indeed! The fact that I know my home is in heaven gives me peace and comfort while I walk amongst this earth. Even though sin, sadness, madness, and chaos all run rampant in this dying life—as a follower of Christ—I know what’s to come. An eternity free from all of those things. An eternity filled with unspeakable joy and peace.

Let us walk in the spirit to exemplify a life filled with Christ. Though troubles and trials will come (John 16:33); we must not wallow in them. Reflect on your behavior and the emotions you exhibit to others. Repent when it is necessary when you let your flesh get the best of you. “But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells”—Romans 7:17-18.

“For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish”—Galatians 5:17. The last part gets me every time: so that you do not do the things that you wish. It’s dangerous walking in the flesh and falling prey to all the traps and troubles Satan and his demons conjure up. This life is a spiritual battlefield (Ephesians 6:12) Don’t be tricked by deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons (1 Timothy 4:1) Scripture will guide you to truth. The absolute, one and only truth of the bible. Seek the scriptures, dear friend, and praise Him while you do it.

Holy Spirit Lead Me by Vanessa Yevsin

Trying to find time in the day, like paint drying on a wall

I start one task, someone needs me, get distracted, things stall.

Raising littles, they’re one and two;

Never ending tasks of things to do.

But stop.

All that we do as mothers is not in vain,

The fruit will bear after much rain.

Find joy in this life, it’s only a short season

God made you a mama for this very reason.

Many things on your plate, it’s the nature of a mother

We hope and pray, as we grow with one another.

Lean into the heeding of the Holy Spirit,

When He calls and convicts you, can you feel it?

And in today’s chaotic culture, maybe I can plant some seeds along the way to help you grow in a relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As a young mama, I’m here to support, play a part in, and befriend you through your own journey of making motherhood.
