About Me

I’m Vanessa Yevsin, a young mom to two sweet girls–who created the blog Making Motherhood. Making Motherhood is all about sharing relatable content as a mom–who’s literally putting the pieces of motherhood together as I go. I don’t have it all figured out by any means, but I do have the desire to share relatable content through my own experiences. And in today’s chaotic culture, maybe I can plant some seeds along the way to help you grow in a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. As a young mama, I’m here to support, play a part in, and befriend you through your own journey of making motherhood.

With two pregnancies almost back to back, it’s been hard to find time to get back into the groove of writing. I needed to commit sooner than later, so I created Making Motherhood three months after my second baby was born. It had been on my heart to create a blog for a while, and I thank the Lord I did! It’s been so wonderful diving back into my creative outlet.

Our two daughters are only fifteen months apart. Our firstborn is three-and-a-half and our second is a little over two. Having them so close together can be challenging at times, but hey, that’s all a part of making motherhood into something beautiful. Knowing that the trials we face gives us perseverance. I know at the end of the day, this will be such a short season compared to the rest of life. I’m choosing to make my journey of motherhood into a blessing–and that, without a doubt, is a gift from the Lord. Knowing that God blessed my husband and I to be the parents to our two little girls is something I will always praise Him for. We had a third pregnancy when my second daughter was eight months old. I was overjoyed to add another olive plant around our table, but the Lord had other plans. You can read about my anembryonic pregnancy (blighted ovum) here. The most recent update on our family includes bringing our third daughter into the world, but Jesus taking her home too soon. Ruth was born at twenty weeks gestation and went straight into the arms of our Savior. I write about her story and the unexpected loss here.

So between all the seasons of our life, I’m finding time to write this blog to other women like you. My husband and I have only been married for four and a half years! We have quite an accelerated timeline together, which you’ll have to read more about in Our Story, and that was all a part of the Lord’s plan! And so is my voice in Making Motherhood. Let’s begin this journey together as we go through motherhood’s highs, lows, and all the in betweens. Whether you’re an expecting mom, a young mom, an older mom, a sister, or a friend–I’m sure there’s something this blog has for you!
