I’ve always considered myself a writer. Since I was in the sixth grade and took a creative writing course with a teacher named Mrs. English–how ironic, right? Language Arts has always been a favorite subject of mine, still to this day. That’s evident though, because I was actually a Language Arts teacher for five years before transitioning to my role as homemaker. Hence, my interest in education, homeschool, and need I mention it; school supplies! Back to school was consistently a favorite time of mine. I guess that’s why I could never get out of going to school–from K-12, college, and then immediately getting my job as a teacher right after graduation. I just couldn’t give up summer breaks! But in all seriousness, education is a great thing.
I still find time to educate myself, which I believe is a necessity in motherhood. Being a lifelong learner in whatever it may be, is essential to fulfilling your purpose. You could be learning about cooking from scratch, non-toxic cleaning supplies, how to self publish a book, making your own baby food, how different types of exercise affects your muscle composition and weight loss, the effects of screen time on your children, and the list goes on! Learning is crucial to our well being.
Under this section for Education, I’ll be sharing about my own experiences as a middle school teacher, things I want to plan for my homeschool journey, and anything else that’s relatable to all things school!
