2024 Vision Board

I like having goals, but I’m not one for a typical New Year’s resolution. For myself, they seem too rigid and easily get left behind; so instead, I’m creating a 2024 vision board. A vision board ebbs and flows with your life, while still creating a sense of direction and ambition for your year. You also don’t have to beat yourself up if something doesn’t get completed since it’s a vision–not a resolution.

So in today’s blog, I wanted to share all that I have on my 2024 vision board. I’ll list out each item, from left to right, in the order they appear on the board and then share a brief explanation. Click here, or scroll down to the bottom for the full image of my vision board. If you are on your smartphone, the image may appear tiny. You can click the link here to see a better view.

Chickens: I want this to be the year we invest in some chickens, so we can start getting our own eggs. My husband and I talked about it last year, but it just didn’t seem like the right time for us. Along with chickens, we talked about getting a couple sheep or goats. I think we’ll start with chickens first…

Group Bible Reading: I was in our church’s bible study last year and it was an amazing fellowship experience to be in communion with like-minded women uplifting each other. I want to plan on joining one again this year, or also hosting my own bible study group with other young moms or even family members!

Table Setting: Similarly to the group get togethers for bible study, I want to do more hosting in our home this year to encourage fellowship and a place of gathering.

Clean Sink: Alright, yall. I really struggle with making it a point to go to bed with a clean sink. The kitchen is usually cleaned up, but not the sink. I’m going to start making it a priority to be sure my sink is clean before the night ends–whether I need to wash a couple dishes leftover after dinner, or fill up the entire dishwasher and run that before bed. I think this vision is going to require strict dedication in the beginning before it becomes a habit.

Sunrise: I want to start waking up earlier, before the kids do. I get into little pockets here and there where I do it, so I’m putting it on the vision board to keep it consistent!

Holy Bible: Staying in the Word of God is crucial for a follower of Christ.

Vegetable Garden: Last year we had our first vegetable garden–so I look forward to planting and harvesting another one this spring and summer.

James 1:5 This was the verse our pastor blessed us with for 2024. Hallelujah and amen!

Making Motherhood: I want to make sure I keep up with blogging for the year, and see where Making Motherhood takes me in 2024.

Soberly, godly, righteously: Three words to describe how I want to live out this life.

Stack of Books: I plan to keep reading more books this year. Reading strengthens my mind and gives me passion and purpose with the things I learn from Christian, nonfiction authors.

Making Bread: I wanted to start making sourdough bread last year by creating my own sourdough starter. It never happened. Let’s add it to the board again this year.

Exercise: This is already a part of my lifestyle, so let’s be sure to keep it that way.

Beach: I want our family to take a week-long beach trip this summer. Even though our children won’t have core memories of being at the beach this young, we will still capture all the memories in photographs for them to look at later in life.

I hope this vision board encouraged you in some way today. Maybe to create your own, or to give you ideas for things to pursue in your own life this year. I pray 2024 is a year of blessings to you mamas, sisters, and friends!

Welcome to Making Motherhood–where I’m all about sharing relatable content as a mom who’s literally putting the pieces of motherhood together as I go. I don’t have it all figured out by any means, but I do have the desire to share relatable content through my own experiences. And in today’s chaotic culture, maybe I can plant some seeds along the way to help you grow in a relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As a young mama, I’m here to support, play a part in, and befriend you through your own journey of making motherhood.
