Maternity and Nursing Friendly Outfits: Items I Wish I Had Known About Sooner! (20+ Items)

Hey mamas, this post is for any pregnant moms or nursing moms out there who are looking for outfits in those seasons of life. This is the list I wish I would’ve had sooner! I’ve compiled all these clothing items from Amazon, which I accumulated over the last two years of being pregnant and nursing. I own all of these clothes that I’m about to share. These are Amazon affiliate links where I may earn a small commission; however, these are tried and true products I wouldn’t be sharing if they weren’t that great.

I’m going to break this up into two sections: maternity only clothes and non-maternity clothes that can still be worn during pregnancy with a bump! I’ll make a note when the item is nursing friendly, along with any other comments I want to leave as a review for the item.

Maternity Only Clothes

Black Bodycon Ruched-Side Dress
I only own the black dress in this style. It truly was a staple of mine as the bump grew. It’s great for all seasons, and is an appropriate length.

Above-Knee Stretchy Pencil Skirt
I own the rose red color of this bodycon pencil skirt. It’s a good summer/spring option. Looking back, it’s probably best for the second trimester or early third trimester before the bump gets too big because then the skirt becomes too short, in my opinion. It was still an affordable option I liked having in my closet.

Classic Side-Ruched Maternity Shirts
These come in a three pack. They are a great staple to have when the bump is poppin’

Knee-Length Wrap Dress
This dress is worth getting if you are having a spring/summer baby. It’s short sleeves, shows off the bump, and is actually a cute maternity dress you’d want to wear out.

Midi Maternity Dress with Front Pleat
Another great maternity dress for when the bump is poppin’. The front pleat is a nice added touch to make this dress not-so basic. Great for church or a formal event when you are showing!

Maternity 2-Piece Skirt and Top
Another great outfit when you’re due in the spring and summer. This was a fun outfit to get and wear. The only thing I didn’t like was how the skirt had an adjustable elastic band on the inside. Some women might like being able to have that option, but I didn’t find it necessary for my size. The elastic band is on the inside, so it does not affect the look of the outfit. I love the black top that came with this–I wear it all the time post-pregnancy.

Maternity Leggings
These are comfortable and affordable leggings that stretch well and fit over the bump.

Maternity Biker Shorts
These are the best maternity biker shorts. I wore these all the time in the spring and summer when I was in my second and third trimesters. I felt they were a little pricey for what they were; however, after wearing them so often I definitely think they were worth it. They are comfortable just lounging, and also wearing to work out.

Non-Maternity Clothes
All these clothes have been so great to double as maternity items when needed, but also to have in my closet for regular go-to clothes, too.

Floral Turquoise Midi Dress; Nursing Friendly
This one is actually labeled as maternity on Amazon–however, it really shouldn’t be! That’s why I’m listing it under non-maternity. I own this dress in the turquoise print and also the black. It fits perfectly when I’m not pregnant, and is a great length. I mentioned this is nursing friendly, right? Such a bonus. This is an all-around staple for me. (It shows currently unavailable from the time I posted this blog, but they might get it back in stock!)

Floral Print Maxi Dress
I wore this dress to the baby shower we had for my first daughter. I loved the pattern and how lightweight it is. A nice spring/summer outfit whether you’re expecting–or not!

Short Sleeve Dress; Nursing Friendly
I own two of these dresses and wore them all the time during my pregnancy. It’s not labeled as maternity, only for breastfeeding. However, I loved having these as staples in my closet while pregnant. They make great maternity dresses too. It was nice to have these flowy dresses, instead of wearing the tight bodycon dresses–which I don’t prefer unless I have a cardigan to cover my backside. I definitely recommend these, especially since they are for breastfeeding too.

Sleeveless Dress; Nursing Friendly
I got this dress when I was breastfeeding my first, but then I ended up wearing it quite often when I was pregnant with my second even though it’s not a maternity dress. It was a win-win in my book! I got one with a solid top and then a patterned bottom half, but it looks like they don’t have the pattern that I own anymore–but still lots of options.

Boho Flowy Maxi Dress
Another maxi dress that doubles as a maternity dress when you’re pregnant. I have this in a floral print style as well, but there are so many options. The slit in the picture is not as revealing in person, in my opinion.

Sleeveless Casual Jumpsuit; Nursing Friendly
This is just what the name says. Casual and cute. I love the relaxed style and it’s also nursing friendly.

Midi Rib Knit Skirt
I loved this skirt when I was pregnant because the stretch is real! The slit goes to your knee like the picture shows.

Short Sleeve A-Line Maxi Dress
This is the dress I wore to my second daughter’s baby shower when I was pregnant (I think the light pink color is linked). It’s so flattering and fits the bump nicely–but also doubles as a non-maternity dress too. The sleeves are a cute touch, along with the tie.

Long-Sleeve Nursing Top ; Nursing Friendly
A must have in your closet for any breastfeeding mamas. I recommend the black color, so you can’t see the fabric line.

Non-Maternity Biker Shorts–3 Pack
These are the 8in length ones, but I also own the 5in length too. I actually wear these all the time for working out in–pregnant and not pregnant!

Extra Items I Want To Share

Labor Gown and/or Nursing Nightgown
I wore this when I was in labor with my first daughter. I gave birth to her in the hospital, but had a homebirth for my second. You can read more about my natural unmedicated hospital birth vs. home birth here.

Nursing Bras-5 Pack
The only nursing bras I own. I’ve bought these twice now because the first set got so worn.

Thanks for reading and checking out my recommendations–and as always, be blessed mamas!
