Hey mamas, sisters, and friends! Another year is here; can you believe it? So with that, I’ve created my 2026 Vision Board to share with you my ideas for what’s to come for the new year. This is my third year doing this, and each time I’ve been in awe at the sovereignty of the Lord and His provision. “There are many plans in a man’s heart, but the Lord directs His steps.” –Proverbs 16:9 As a follower of Christ, a vision board is not meant to manifest things. I actually want no part of “manifestation” to be associated with this board. This is simply a way to visualize our family’s ideas and creative passions for what we hope comes to pass. This is done through prayer and seeking an intimate relationship with the Lord, along with our own personal responsibility and self-discipline. In reflecting on last year’s vision board, God surely provided. My husband and I started making soap, I kept up reading plenty of books, we grew our (*very* small) goat herd, we got outside a ton more, and we welcomed a third child to our family. She went straight to the arms of our Savior!–but God DID provide! Thank you, Lord Almighty for your faithfulness. If you missed my post about our third child and our loss, you can find that here. Prayer + Bible: This is a nonnegotiable every year. Prayer and reading the bible are what keeps my family and I going. We believe Christianity and the bible are objective truths–meaning, this isn’t just true for Christians, but for all of humanity. The truth of Christ reigns absolute whether you are a believer or an unbeliever. Read Philippians 2:10-11.
Home Sweet Home Sign: We want family and our home life to continue to grow and be the focus of where everything else stems from. Being a homemaker and homeschooler makes home the center of everything I do–so all the more to enjoy it and make it sweet.
Canning: This was on the vision board for last year! Sadly, I wasn’t able to get around to it with the bounty from our summer garden, so I wanted to bring it back again this year. I plan to focus on canning sauces, pickles, and jams.
Less Food Waste and Intentional Cooking: These two pictures of the food compost bucket and grocery list go with this vision. I want to be sure we aren’t just throwing out scraps of food, but limiting our waste by passing it on to the chickens or composting. The grocery list is a reminder that I want to be intentional with my cooking. I find myself spending lots of time cooking, but I think I need to refine my approach and be more intentional. Not just baking a cake or cookies to bake and then they go to waste…but plan out my meals, bulk prep and freeze some things, and make the most out of my time in the kitchen.
Goat Milking and Kids: Lord-willing, our four Nigerian Dwarf does are pregnant and we will have some kids this spring! That also means milk! We didn’t get to milking last year, so this might just be our year.
Little Farm (and Eggs): This is a vision we have to start monetizing the work we put into by raising livestock and creating a simple life from home. Little Farm is our family business. Our goal is to sell the farm fresh eggs, homemade soap, granola, and fresh-milled baked goods (and maybe even goat milk, or goat milk soap).
Family of 5: This was on my vision board last year and God made it happen–just not with the outcome we expected. So once again, I prayerfully and humbly come before the Lord Almighty with the desire to grow our family and welcome home a healthy, breathing baby to make us a family of five.
Homeschool: The picture of the room with the bookshelf and child at the table using scissors is a reminder for me to keep up the work with homeschooling my littles going into this year. In six months I’ll have a four your year old and almost three year old. Of course, they are still young, so I’m giving myself grace–however; I want to be sure I don’t get slack in my efforts. Being intentional is always the way to go!
Books: I plan to keep up my goals with reading this year along with continuing my book club! My focus genre is Christian nonfiction; theology, Christian living, and missionary stories.
Galatians 6:14 is the scripture that our pastor blessed us going into the new year. What a verse to keep the focus of going into 2026! Thank you, Lord!
